Great job with this Matt. I've been consuming Draft content since before the McNair Draft and have tons of the old Buchsbaum/ PFW, Scouts Inc and Mel Kiper blue books and you being able to push stuff like this out as we get more news like todays moving around the board makes the new venture the best place to get timely thoughts as we get deeper into the 2021 NFL team roster builds. Outstanding use of the freedom you have with the new venture!
Curious on the thought process around Phillips to the Titans still. I think Phillips is a freak, and loved the pick before free agency, but after breaking the bank on Bud Dupree, do you still see Tennessee going EDGE? Or would they be better served addressing WR or even RT?
its trades like this weekends that make me miss stick to football the most. good read matt, do you think you could potentially swap the cinci and dolphins pick? I know Burrow will be pushing for chase behind the scenes
FWIW - Gruden has been very dismissive towards the idea of spending more draft capital on the secondary. I agree that the Raiders clearly need an upgrade at FS, but I doubt they spend a 1st round pick on one.
Most people seem to view Alijah Vera-Tucker as an IOL. What are the chances that he sticks at OT in the NFL? Any word on how most teams around the league view him?
As a Panthers fan this is a great scenario yet not good rd 1. If Penei Sewell slips to us... I dont care if Cam Erving was signed- GIVE ME SEWELL! Sewell and Moton would be perfect to help Teddy stay healthy while we find a way to get Sam Howell next year.
You're right about the SF/MIA trade indicating the Jets are taking a QB. Someone is going to pony up for Sam Darnold.. but who and what is his value? Raiders, Vikings, or WFT seem most likely to me.
Great as always Matt, I love Jaelan Phillips but I truly believe your first round pick needs to be a first year starter. I would like the Titans to get the best available WR or CB in round 1. I don’t think Phillips is going to start over Dupree or Landry. Newsome would have been the pick for me.
With respect, Surtain is imo a bad pick for the Giants with the signing of Adoree Jackson. The draft is for the future, but for a team that is looking to get into the playoffs, that 11th pick needs to be a starter. Not a knock on Surtain who looks every bit the Stephon Gilmore comp you gave him, but for the Giants, I think Slater or a pass rusher is a better move.
I was talking about oweh to TB just the other day after Penn State pro day. Great situational guy and get to learn from JPP and Barrett. As they say the rich get richer

Caleb Farley and Jaylon Johnson give the Bears potentially the best young CB duo in the league. Just pray for Farley’s health.

I really hope one of the top linebackers are there for WAS at 19. I like the WRs they have and would rather see that on day 2 or 3.

Hey Matt,
Why does it seem like a lot of draft analysts do not believe Justin Fields is a scheme fit for the 49ers?

Did something happen with Kwity Paye that he would be knocked out of the first round? As a Vikings fan I hope he’s in play for them at 14.

So Etienne at 30 and Harris out of the 1st Round?
I also think that Lance will be the 3rd pick. Good stuff!
