Jets fan who is dreaming about getting Watson here. Want to pick your brains. What would you say the value of the number 2 pick is? Let me preface by saying I think it ultimately will take 2 firsts this year (including #2) a first next year, and perhaps a mid round pick to pry Watson away. However, I want to know what you all think the #2 pick is worth on its own.

For example, we have seen teams give up the farm for the #2 pick, which generally involves trading a team’s current year first, a future first, and another future high pick(s).

With Houston not having a first round pick this year, what would it cost the team in terms of draft capital to simply “buy” into the #2 spot? My gut would say it’s somewhere around 3 future firsts?

Just an exercise to add some context to the value of what the jets have to offer. I think them giving up 3 firsts, including #2, has value equivalent of 4+ firsts to a team without a first rounder this year. Let alone Houston having their choice of any QB not named TL.

Thoughts?

If there's any truth to Caserio liking Tua, then Miami will offer less, not more, draft compensation. Look for Miami to add Howard to the mix rather than a future 1.

He would waive his no trade clause IMO for Carolina, Miami, or San Fran. If Houston does trade him they wouldn’t want do it in-conference unless the return package from Miami is just can’t pass up on

There are several very interesting scenarios here. The most interesting thing to me is which teams Watson would actually consider waiving his no-trade clause for. Of the teams listed, I feel like the Dolphins and 49ers offer him the best chance to win sooner than later. It's going to be one of the most fun off season's that we've experienced in quite some time.

Carolina makes so much sense. That would be one hell of a trade.

If they do trade CMC, is there a RB that you would want the Panthers to draft at #39?

As a Panthers fan, would be completely okay with McCaffrey + 3 1sts + Bridgewater. Tasting a Super Bowl in 2015 is enough for me to part ways with the best RB we've ever had

I fully agree with you that basically all teams should be calling. So lets get crazy. What would it take for a team like Baltimore or Green Bay to trade for him?

I think he either stays with Houston or The Panthers offer 3 firsts, a second, a swap of 3rds and Teddy B and maybe Derrick Brown for Watson. I don’t think any other team puts that much on the table with Watsons interest. Maybe Miami but Carolina is the most hungry suitor.
