Tutu Atwell 2021 NFL Draft Scouting Report
Name: Tutu Atwell
Position: WR
College: Louisville
Height: 5’9 1/8"
Weight: 155 lbs (pro day)
Overall Rank: No. 85 overall
Position Rank: WR14
Strengths: Atwell doesn’t have much size but he’s an electric runner in the open field with the ball and fantastic vertical threat. A chunk play magician, Atwell is a threat to create big plays from anywhere on the field thanks to his speed and agility. He was a production machine at Louisville without a great passing game around him. Turn on the tape long enough and you’ll see him ripping off long runs for scores. He’s dynamic with the ball in his hands. Separation is no issue for him on vertical routes or as a ball-carrier. An easy, confident mover who knows he can out run most defenders.
Weaknesses: A lack of play power is a major concern on a 155 pound frame. Atwell lacks strength to beat press coverage, break tackles, and has to be considered a durability concern at that weight. He’s a non-factor over the middle and doesn’t run through the catch point. His lack of aggressiveness in traffic is concerning.
What I Love: Atwell is a legitimate threat to score any time he touches the ball. His ability to rip off chunk plays makes him one of the more fun studies in the class.
