Teven Jenkins 2021 NFL Draft Scouting Report
Name: Teven Jenkins
College: Oklahoma State
Height: 6’6”
Weight: 317 lbs
Arm Length: 33 1/2”
Overall Rank: 31
Position Rank: OT4
Strengths: Massive offensive tackle prospect with experience at guard, Jenkins offers a profile of a starting Day 1 right tackle or right guard but also has experience at left tackle and is comfortable in multiple positions. Jenkins has the footwork, athleticism and poise of an NFL starter. He’s quick out of his stance and slides well to protect the edge while not surrendering his inside shoulder. He’s a mean finisher in the run game (see the Texas game) and relishes pancake blocks. Athletically, Jenkins has the tools to improve as a pass blocker and showed improvement throughout his senior season. The hope from NFL teams is that with more reps and settling in at one position, he could clean up some technique issues (depth in his pass set, punch timing). He is a projection, though, and could land as a right tackle or right guard starter.
Weaknesses: A lack of upper body power shows up at times and you’d like his punch to land with more impact. His arm length came in just over the NFL threshold of 33 inches and could be a concern for some teams as there is tape of defenders long-arming him with success. Jenkins’ technique right now is not good enough for the left side and against speedy pass-rushers on the right side he could be in trouble as a pass protector. He needs a good coach and some patience.
What I Love: Jenkins is a soft-spoken big man with a fiery demeanor on the field. He locks onto defenders in the run game and takes them for a ride. That toughness and willingness to finish plays is amazing.
