Happy Mock Draft Monday and our first look mock with the Panthers at No. 1! I love reading mock drafts and seeing where different prospects get drafted but it takes one wrong pick to absolutely ruin a good mock. So, in this mock we are going to focus more on the “what” teams may draft and less on the “who” they might draft. Enjoy.
Panthers (CHI)
The Panthers pulled off the first big trade and the first pick in the 2023 NFL Draft on Friday. I won’t say that it was a shocking move - we all expected the Bears to trade out - but we didn’t expect the Panthers to do it. So, what will they do? They’re going to draft a quarterback because that’s what you do when you don’t have a quarterback and you have the No. 1 pick. Bryce Young has been the favorite to go first but there is a lot of talk about CJ Stroud now that the Panthers have the pick. Don’t be surprised to hear some love for Anthony Richardson going first either!
Most likely outcome: Draft CJ Stroud, QB, Ohio State
Texans
The Texans failed to secure the No. 1 pick with a win in their last game but might still land the quarterback they wanted all along. The Texans also need to draft their quarterback of the future but there have been rumors about them trading back to do so. I doubt they move down the board but if they love all four quarterbacks it could be an option for Houston.
Most likely outcome: Draft Bryce Young, QB, Alabama
