The pre-draft process kicks off in full next week as practices begin on Saturday, January 25 in Denton, Texas for the East-West Shrine Game. From there we’ll head across Texas to Mobile, Alabama for Senior Bowl practices, starting Tuesday January 28.

We will have scouts on-hand at both the Shrine and Senior practices, giving you notes on standout players and what the buzz is on the streets at each event. But let’s get started with a primer of sorts.

Rosters for both events tend to fluctuate in the days leading up to the event. We will do our best to acknowledge roster changes and keep you updated.

Quarterbacks — Shrine

Shedeur Sanders, Colorado

Arguably the top quarterback in the draft class, it will be interesting to see if Sanders actually practices at Shrine or if he’s there for interviews with teams only. The Titans are assigned to coach Sanders in practices, which could be an incentive for him to workout for the team with the No. 1 overall pick.

Kurtis Rourke, Indiana

A sixth-year player with a good arm for downfield throws, Rourke is seen as a Day 3 backup-level quarterback by scouts.

Max Brosmer, Minnesota

A good athlete if undersized quarterback, Brosmer is a fringe draftable player.

Brady Cook, Missouri

Cook was highly productive at Missouri but tailed off in his senior season. He has good pocket mobility and throws a catchable pass, but lacks arm strength. His moxie this week could get him drafted.

Cam Miller, North Dakota State

A sleeper from the FBS level, Miller has a draftable grade on our board thanks to his athletic ability. He’s a quality Round 7 candidate who we’ll be watching closely in practices against higher level of competition.

Kyle McCord, Syracuse

McCord had a huge year at Syracuse after being shown the door at Ohio State. He can sling it with a good deep ball and good pocket ability. We have him as a Day 3 priority quarterback.

Quarterbacks — Senior

Jalen Milroe, Alabama

A highly-regarded athlete, Milroe has a chance to make himself money in Mobile with his speed, arm strength, and high-character. He could also lose money if he continues to display the erratic ball placement that plagued his last season at Alabama. He’s one of the players we are most interested to track this week.

Tyler Shough, Louisville

One scout told me to keep a very close eye on Shough in Mobile and predicted he would be a riser based on his tools. He has ideal size at 6’5” and 225 pounds with good speed and agility.

Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss

Dart could be this year’s Bo Nix: A productive, experienced quarterback who throws with touch and timing, is wide receiver friendly with his placement, and can move around in the pocket. Nix started his rise at the Senior Bowl last year. Dart could be that guy this year.
