Wisconsin (-3) @ 25 Purdue, 2:00 CT, BTN
Giving Wisconsin three points in any Big Ten matchup is a tough look this season and Purdue is riding HOT right now after upsetting No. 2 Iowa last weekend. The Purdue defense is allowing just 14 points per game this year and should have no problem against a struggling Wisconsin offense. I like the Boilermakers to win and cover the three points in West Lafayette.
8 Oklahoma State @ Iowa State (-7), 2:30 CT, FOX
The eighth ranked, undefeated, Oklahoma State Cowboys will go into Ames, Iowa as an UNDERDOG! And I completely understand it. Iowa State is starting to click and get running back Breece Hall going with four straight 100+ yard rushing games. I expect Hall to get his fifth straight 100+ performance against a shaking Oklahoma State defense. The Cowboys are coming off a comeback win over Texas but they have struggled to score points this season and their defense isn’t good enough to stop Breece Hall. I like Iowa State to cover the seven points.
Clemson @ 23 Pittsburgh (-3), 2:30 CT, ESPN
The unranked Clemson Tigers are road-dogs against Pittsburgh. I really can’t believe what I’m seeing but I side with the odds makers. Pitt has a very good offense, putting up 48.3 points per game, and should be able to score enough points to hold off Clemson. Clemson does have a top ranked defense in the nation but their offense struggles have been too much to overlook. I like Pitt in this one and I also like the UNDER, set at 48.
BYU (-4.5) @ Washington State, 2:30 CT, FS1
Washington State has a ton of distractions right now and BYU is looking for a win after two big losses. However, I have no doubt in my mind the Cougars will win this game even though the Cougars are going to be a tough opponent. What the Cougars have on offense should be enough - given the weak Cougars defense. Ok, I’m done messing around now. I’m taking Washington State to rally around their current team and coaching staff and get a win at home - or at least cover the 4.5 points.
South Carolina @ 17 Texas A&M (-21), 6:30 CT, SECN
South Carolina is going back to grad assistant Zeb Noland to play quarterback for the Gamecocks this weekend and that is not a good sign for SC. Meanwhile, Texas A&M seems to have calmed down sophomore signal caller Zach Calzada enough to put up points in the SEC. Even after an unimpressive game on Saturday, A&M still managed to put 35 points on Missouri and should have similar success against South Carolina. I’m taking the Aggies to cover the huge 21 point spread. The Aggies just have too many good athletes on the field for South Carolina to keep this game close.
18 NC State (-3) @ Miami, 6:30 CT, ESPN2
I continue to like the Wolfpack and that doesn’t change this weekend. Miami is just 2-4 this season with their only wins coming against App State and...Central Connecticut. The Hurricanes are also one of the most injury plagued teams in the ACC. NC State is only allowing 14.3 points per game and should have no problem stopping the Miami offense. I’ll be monitoring Miami head coach Manny Diaz and his future after a NC State win and cover.
