—Trey Lance Pro Day Today
North Dakota State quarterback Trey Lance will have his second pro day workout today—his last was way back on March 12th. Notably, the Atlanta Falcons will send a full contingent of evaluators to watch the workout. The Falcons select at No. 4 overall, which means that Lance could be off the board by the time they are on the clock. The San Francisco 49ers, who own the No. 3 selection, are also attending.
— Michael Lombardi says Justin Fields not the pick for San Francisco
There has been rampant speculation as to who the 49ers will select at No. 3 overall, but former NFL general manager Michael Lombardi says it won’t be Justin Fields. Lombardi added something I’ve heard and reported as well: that the 49ers appear to favor Mac Jones but there is a slim chance Trey Lance could be the pick at No. 3.
— 2022 Alabama wide receiver prospect already exciting teams
File this away for next year. During the Alabama spring game on Saturday, an NFL scout text me that wide receiver John Metchie III was “better than [Jaylon] Waddle!”. Teams are very excited about next year’s receiver class and Metchie might be the star of it.
— A great start for Trevor Lawrence
The presumptive No. 1 overall pick has pledged to donate $20,000 to Jacksonville charities. Lawrence added that he "hope(s) to be a part of your community soon." He will be in 10 days.
Keep an eye on Agiye Hall. Freshman receiver for Alabama but he BALLED in A-Day. Traeshon Holden also played well with John Metchie sitting out.
When's your next scouting notebook? Thanks Matt!
