Welcome to a new feature at The Draft Scout. We call it “On Tap” where you get all the news you need to know about the NFL, NFL Draft and college football in one very handy article.
— 8 NFL teams attend Ohio State Pro Day
Eight teams are confirmed to have attended the pro day. They are: New York Jets, San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons, Detroit Lions, Carolina Panthers, Denver Broncos, New England Patriots and a surprise attendee in Chicago Bears’ head coach Matt Nagy.
— Another lawsuit filed against Deshaun Watson
The Houston Texans’ quarterback is facing 22 total lawsuits from women alleging misconduct during massages. Watson has denied wrongdoing.
— Trevor Lawrence, “Not an ‘I want to win a Super Bowl at all costs’ person”.
This will undoubtedly make news. In a Sports Illustrated cover interview, Trevor Lawrence is quoted as saying he wants to be the best football player he can be and maximize his potential, but his wife and father are quoted as saying there’s “more to life than football”
His high school coach added, “he’s not award-driven. He’s not, ‘I want to win a Super Bowl at all costs.’ “
Lawrence will still be drafted first overall, but I can tell you these quotes are causing a lot of conversations at the NFL level.
— Browns sign Jadeveon Clowney
The Cleveland Browns continue to cross-off needs before the NFL draft by signing the former 2014 No. 1 overall selection. Clowney’s numbers have not backed up his reputation, but with offensive lines focusing on Myles Garrett, perhaps he can break out in 2021.
When are you posting your next mock draft?
