Josh Imatorbhebhe 2021 NFL Draft Scouting Report
Name: Josh Imatorbhebhe
College: Illinois
Height: 6’1”
Weight: 218 lbs
Overall Rank: No. 164
Position Rank: WR25
Strengths: Imatorbhebhe will pass every eye test and has an NFL-ready physical profile. He’s an explosive, physically imposing athlete that wins on the boundary by attacking the football in the air and using size to box out smaller defenders. The competitive toughness to win at the catch-point is evident and he’s at his best when he’s able to use rebound posture to secure catches in traffic. Teams will talk themselves into his 2019 tape as an example of what he can be when he’s completely healthy and serving as an integral part of an offense.
Weaknesses: There is no question that Imatorbhebhe will earn some NFL opportunities on pure athletic profile alone. However, he’s a fairly raw and underdeveloped prospect overall. He simply hasn’t had the routine performance on the field that you’d hope for. As a result, he’s likely a Day 3 pick that will have to spend a year or two developing. Route-running is frenetic and doesn’t show the ideal fluidity to run an advanced route tree. He’s got all of the makings of a legitimate NFL starter but needs some significant polish early on. He hasn’t had devastating injuries, but he’s missing action far too often and teams will want clear medical checks.
What I Love: Speaking purely in regard to raw athletic talent and upside, few in this class rival what Imatorbhebhe could become with additional opportunities. A team will have to trust their coaching staff to squeeze every ounce of talent out, but there’s plenty to still draw on.
