We’re just getting started on scouting the upcoming college football season and the 2024 NFL draft class, but the pros have been keeping a watchful eye on the prospective prospects for the last year. And they’re already forming opinions of them.

Here’s what scouts are saying in the lead up to the college football season, based on our conversations with over 10 evaluators post-draft.

Today kicks off the first of our 2024 draft preview series. NFL scouts give us their early analysis of the quarterbacks.

  • Caleb Williams, USC

    — “He’s electric. Like if Kyler Murray were 6-1 and gave a crap about football.”

    — “I am not sold on the Lincoln Riley scheme producing pro quarterbacks, but his traits are elite, elite. He’s QB1 until proven otherwise.”

    — “Crazy arm talent. Very good mobility that he uses to extend plays and not just run around. I get the Mahomes comps.”

—”Go back, watch the (2021) Texas game where he comes in at halftime and leads that comeback for OU. Poised, confident, deadly.”
