Aaron Rodgers is so sensitive that communicating with him at all would lead to problems. If they would have told him they were considering drafting a QB he would have been against it. If they would have drafted Love anyway we would have received this years temper tantrum last year. He's a diva who was drafted to replace the previous diva. Both he and Favre were fun to watch. I don't know that I'd want to spend time with any of them. This is from a lifelong Packer fan who suffered through 2 decades of a disgraceful football team before they came onto the scene. I'm not a fan of Gutenkust either but these decisions are his responsibility. I also love all the former athletes in the media who can't understand why the Packers aren't funding new and improved ways to kiss Rodgers' behind. Maybe the reason they went after Love in the first place is because they wanted this insufferable ass out of town after this year because the salary cap will prohibit them from keeping the team together anyway. They don;t want to trade him now because they've been been one game away from the superbowl for 2 years. They also don't want Rodgers to embarrass them in the short term the way Favre did.

I would call his bluff and keep him, mend the relationship. He retires? He pays back like 30 mil. Don’t trade him unless your confident in Jordan Love.

The team will be there after the QB is gone. They should have moved him on draft night, as I would suspect the haul has only decreased for them since. It's become clear this is just who AR is. Cash out. The problem now, is they let him display his unhappiness enough that, similar to Atlanta/Julio, the leverage is gone.

Always better to be a year early than a year late. Right Matt?

I do not like being the pessimistic one, although I do enjoy devil's advocate, so here we go. Aaron is the MVP, first ballot HOF, SB champ, etc., but he is also 37 with a promising game host career post football. Is the OL is better? Bakhtiari is back, but Linsley is gone. In each of the past 2 NFC title games there were at least 3 sacks and an INT with more pressures. These are not Aaron's fault but there's an argument that the entire roster is not as close to winning as they seem. While the obvious assumption then is to invest in Aaron and trade Jordan Love - What if they do and the results are the same? What if he retires sometime midseason or next year? What if (knock on wood) he does not play the whole season and then they don't have a backup? The Packers are preparing for a future that may very well have already arrived. I am not saying that Jordan Love is going to win them a SB or that it is going to be like the Favre-Rodgers transition before him. But he is the future of the franchise with hope that once Aaron does retire that they can remain competitive and hopefully address some of the other parts of the team that can be better. Honestly, no one wants to see Aaron leave the Packers or retire, but the GM has to meet the needs of the whole team (not just one player) in an effort to be competitive every year (not just win now). So to answer: I think they should continue to stalemate and hope he reports. If he does not - run with Jordan Love, hope he succeeds and that the Packers can compete, and deal with Aaron later.

Fire the GM & President. How is this even a conversation? If it was Rogers who messed up instead of the Front Office — which most agree the team brass did in this situation, whether not communicating about a QB or not drafting under an “all in” for a Super Bowl strategy — then he or any other player would be held accountable and it would be a nonissue. However, there clearly are a different set of rules for the GM here. They would have been fired already, and definitely prior to this past draft and probably immediately after last year’s draft, had the decision been mine. I am a WFT fan, so we know more than anyone what an incompetent and thoughtless Front Office does to a team and eventually it’s fan base, no matter the prior success and winning history. I hope Green Bay gets this mess cleaned up and gets back to being one of the better ran teams. I feel bad for the fan base needing to go though such an unnecessary and easily preventable situation. We are finally climbing out of the dumpster fire of the Snyder Era, and I would wish such nonsense on no other team — except the cowboys, of course🤣!

I believe that the Green Bay Packers should do whatever they can to mend the relationship with Aaron Rodgers. For a team that has been at the door step of the Super Bowl for the past two years their window to win is now and Aaron Rodgers is obviously a big part of that. Aaron stated on ESPN the other night (whether true or not) that he loves his teammates, coaching staff and has a good relationship with Jordan Love. The Packers organization although being unique in all of sports seems to still operate with an old mindset, it seems to work as they have been successful but maybe they need to change and adapt going forward. I am not sure this can be fixed but maybe both sides needs to change a little to make this work for everyone's best interests.

Thank you
