General manager Ryan Poles inherited a roster in need of major reworking when he took the job last January. The Chicago Bears have a franchise quarterback in Justin Fields and complementary pieces on offense with running backs David Montgomery and Khalil Herbert, to go along with pass-catchers Darnell Mooney, Chase Claypool and Cole Kmet.

But the offensive line needs re-imagined and the defensive front seven is lacking foundational pieces to build around.

With nine selections in the 2023 NFL draft, the Bears have the capital to add core starters to the roster.
