Soon enough everyone will have a 2024 NFL Mock Draft and before long we’ll have big boards and watchlists all over. After taking a peek at some of the way too early mocks and big boards I noticed a couple of names that kept popping up on everyone's list - mine included. Here are the 17 names that keep showing up so far. I’m labeling them the “Blue Chip Prospects”
Quarterback:
Caleb Williams, USC, 6-1, 210
The 2022 Heisman Trophy winner is already at the top of all the draft boards, rightfully so. Williams is getting even higher praise than just the No. 1 overall player - he is also being compared to Patrick Mahomes. His ability to make plays and create off-script are keys to the comparison and both quarterbacks are very good in that department. Williams is a little better runner but doesn’t have quite the arm talent of Patrick Mahomes. But not many do. Any team drafting No. 1 should consider Williams with the pick.
