Anthony Schwartz 2021 NFL Draft Scouting Report
Name: Anthony Schwartz
Position: WR
College: Auburn
Height: 6’0"
Weight: 186 lbs (pro day)
Overall Rank: No. 79 overall
Position Rank: WR11
Strengths: Track speed is the hallmark of Anthony Schwartz’s game. He has the wheels to burn past coverage and will destroy cushions from defenders. His acceleration is some of the best you’ll see. Vertical stretch is the game for Schwartz as every defense must account for his big play ability and deep speed. Safeties will struggle to match his speed with their angles and range. The potential to his game is notable as Schwartz’s speed can be a legitimate difference-maker in the pros.
Weaknesses: Instincts at the position need work. Schwartz has inconsistent hands and doesn’t have ideal concentration in contested situations. The passing tree at Auburn was not developed, so Schwartz will need to learn how to expand his routes on the fly. Having time to develop the intricacies of the position—most notably his reaction time to the ball—will be crucial to his development.
What I Love: Very few wide receivers have the speed to attack a defense like Schwartz does. If placed in a scheme with a strong-armed quarterback, Schwartz could be a home run hitter.
