Amon-Ra St. Brown 2021 NFL Draft Scouting Report
Name: Amon-Ra St. Brown
Position: WR
College: USC
Height: 5’11 1/2"
Weight: 197 lbs (pro day)
Overall Rank: No. 103 overall
Position Rank: WR17
Strengths: A savvy route-runner, St. Brown plays the position like a veteran from a technique standpoint. He understands how to stack moves and beat multiple coverages. And while he doesn’t have off the charts athleticism, he knows how to use his timing and body to find separation. He is a poised, controlled route-runner who knows how to help his quarterback by making himself a bigger target. St. Brown is tough and oftentimes appears fearless tracking the ball.
Weaknesses: St. Brown won’t impress you off the hoof with athleticism or size. He has a lean frame, smaller hands, and doesn’t bring the next-level speed needed to separate from defenders. St. Brown may ultimately be moved inside to a slot role where he can avoid press coverage. Inconsistent hands are the biggest issue with his tape. He’s too often double-catching or flat-out dropping passes.
What I Love: St. Brown doesn’t have great strength or speed, but he’s open more often than not. A savvy route-runner can go far in the NFL.
