Alijah Vera-Tucker 2021 NFL Draft Scouting Report
Name: Alijah Vera-Tucker
College: USC
Height: 6’4 1/2”
Weight: 308 lbs
Arm Length: 32 1/8”
Overall Rank: 21
Position Rank: IOL1
Strengths: A versatile, athletic offensive line prospect who teams view as anything from a left tackle to a center. Vera-Tucker is strong with excellent lower and upper body functional strength. He has a squatty, wide frame loaded with the agility needed for the pass and run game. Vera-Tucker is athletic and agile with good movement to his inside and outside shoulder. He’s poised and calm in pass protection and uses his tools well. His hands are strong and very fast. In the run game he’s agile to the second level and goes looking for people to block. He’s ideal for a zone blocking scheme where his movement could be a problem for defenses.
Weaknesses: A lack of size stands out if you view him at tackle and a lack of reps at that spot could also hurt his stock. At either guard or tackle you’d like to see a little better toughness in the run game and more aggressiveness in his blocks at the first and second levels.
What I Love: Vera-Tucker was arguably the best guard in the Pac-12 in 2019 then was asked to move to left tackle for 2020 and dominated there with little prep to the season. That speaks volumes to his football IQ and athleticism.
