Aaron Banks 2021 NFL Draft Scouting Report
Name: Aaron Banks
Position: Guard
College: Notre Dame
Height: 6’5”
Weight: 325 lbs
Arm Length: 33 1/4”
Overall Rank: No. 70 overall
Position Rank: IOL4
Strengths: A massive guard prospect with excellent strength and length to handle man and zone scheme assignments. Banks’ size and strength profile are perfect for teams that want to overpower defenses and run the football. He’s big throughout his upper body and uses that mass with toughness and fire. In pass protection, Banks is poised and strong. His hands are heavy and well-timed with good grip strength and accuracy. He’s a balanced, pro-ready guard prospect with two years starting experience and should walk into a depth chart as a starter.
Weaknesses: Banks has been able to overpower so many defenders in college that he hasn’t had to perfect his technique. His flexibility is average and because of it his pad height gets too upright. His recovery agility and lateral quickness are average and could be exposed. Learning to flatten his back and bend his knees would improve his game immensely.
What I Love: Banks is a bully and he knows it. His size and strength make him a fun run game prospect to study. He’ll immediately improve the first and second down situations wherever he’s drafted.
