Free agency may have only officially started on Wednesday, but the top players are largely off the board. And that means we can realistically updated the team needs for every team with the NFL draft only 41 days away.
Some free agents may actually affect team needs still, but there aren’t many. Aaron Rodgers signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Giants or Minnesota Vikings would only temporarily change the needs of those clubs—and for the Vikings it wouldn’t change them at all.
So let’s jump in. Here are the freshest team needs for every NFL team.
Tennessee Titans
Pick: No. 1 overall | 8 total picks
QB, DE, WR, CB, G
The Titans signed left tackle Dan Moore, checking off the biggest need outside of quarterback that existed pre-free agency. With the No. 1 overall pick, it’s starting to feel like quarterback is the direction the team will go since they didn’t jump in on the top veteran passers.
Cleveland Browns
Pick: No. 2 overall | 10 total picks
QB, T, WR, DT, LB, RB
The Browns have been very quiet in free agency outside of trading for Kenny Pickett and re-signing Myles Garrett. This is still a team with a need at quarterback, a need for a WR2, and perhaps a left tackle depending on how they think about Dawand Jones as the future blindside blocker. Running back is another area the team has yet to add a player at.
New York Giants
Pick: No. 3 overall | 8 total picks
Needs: QB, WR, DE, IOL, ILB
The Giants have been busy in free agency, but largely on defense as the team signed DE Chauncey Golston, CB Paulson Adebo and S Jevon Holland. Issues on offense remain the same. Tommy DeVito is the only quarterback on roster as the Giants wait to hear from Aaron Rodgers. Regardless of his decision, this is a team that must draft a quarterback this year.
