Who’s ready to start on the 2025 class?
We are.
Already this week we’ve published one ‘25 mock draft, courtesy of Mello, and now we’re diving into another mock. This one, a little different, will give you some background and behind the scenes from what went down during the 2024 draft process. Some of the things that happened and didn’t happen will help inform what teams attempt do next year. So we’ll give you the download on that info below while also taking a look at the 2025 class.
And boy is it a good one.
Draft order courtesy of Pro Football Focus.
1. Carolina Panthers — DE James Pearce Jr., Tennessee
Get ready for the James Pearce love fest on this website. The Tennessee edge-rusher has elite athletic ability, elite production, and is an elite person. That trifecta is hard to find on defense, especially at a premier position. It’ll lead to him being selected very, very early in next year’s first round.
2. New England Patriots — OT Kelvin Banks Jr., Texas
The Patriots invested heavily on offense in the 2024 draft, but didn’t address the left tackle position. That should be the top priority for the following offseason. Banks’ size at 6’4” may create length questions, but his pass protection and run game tape are nearly flawless.
3. Denver Broncos — OT Will Campbell, LSU
Here’s a nugget for you to file away: The Broncos have soured on left tackle Garret Bolles as he enters the final year of his contract. So much so that the team could even trade him in-season if a bidder appears. Campbell is a plug-and-play left tackle who is battle-tested in the SEC. If Bo Nix proves himself at quarterback, the Broncos are free and clear to draft his blindside bodyguard here.
