Today we begin our scouting summaries series—giving you quick scouting introductions to every player we see as draftable in the 2025 draft class.
Up first, the quarterbacks.
From Cam Ward to Hunter Dekkers, here are our breakdowns you’ll need to know both before the draft and after the draft if your team selects one of these passers.
1. Cam Ward - Miami
Cam Ward is a dynamic, instinctive quarterback who steadily developed across five college seasons at Incarnate Word, Washington State, and Miami. Known for his quick release, feel in the pocket, and improvisational creativity, he excelled in RPO concepts and led the nation in completions of over 10 yards in 2024. Ward broke Case Keenum's Division I record for passing touchdowns (158) and set Miami's single-season records. While his mechanics and ball placement need work, he's a poised competitor with NFL starter upside, drawing comparisons to a taller, slower Kyler Murray, Jordan Love and even Patrick Mahomes II.

2. Shedeur Sanders - Colorado
Shedeur Sanders is a poised, accurate passer with NFL bloodlines and top-tier experience at Jackson State and Colorado. Known for his excellent mechanics and decision-making, he led the FBS with a 74% completion rate in 2024. Though he lacks elite arm strength and is a modest athlete, Sanders consistently managed pressure and thrived in rhythm-based schemes. His timing, leadership, and maturity make him a strong candidate for a timing-based NFL offense. He’s an efficient, confident, and intelligent quarterback.
Grade: 1st-2nd round
3. Jaxson Dart - Ole Miss
Jaxson Dart is a gritty, strong-armed quarterback with excellent size and athleticism. A three-year starter at Ole Miss, he set school records for passing yards and total offense while leading a dynamic play-action-based scheme. Dart throws with improved confidence and shows touch and velocity on deep shots. Though he still needs to speed up his processing and improve his anticipation, his mobility, toughness, and leadership stand out. Dart fits best in a developmental role where he can refine his full-field progression reads.
