2024 NFL Trade Deadline: 7 Moves We'd Like to See
The NFL trade deadline is set for November 5, at 4:00pm New York time, and already we’re hearing rumblings of players who will or want to be moved.
Davante Adams wants out of Las Vegas. Haason Reddick still hasn’t reported to the New York Jets. Tee Higgins remains on his one-year Franchise tag deal and could be shopped. And teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jets, and Kansas City Chiefs are expected to be active in shoring up holes on their respective rosters.
So what deals should get done? We’re keeping it realistic here and throwing out any fan bias that might exist at The Draft Scout to give you six trades that make sense for both parties.
AGENTS: Finding clients is a process. It's a fun one, but the hours involved in scouting and talking to NFL evaluators about a client before you ever earn a dollar from them is exhausting.

Tee Higgins to the Dallas Cowboys
The Kansas City Chiefs certainly make sense for Higgins on a one-year rental, but the Cowboys are desperate for playmakers opposite CeeDee Lamb and would allow the Bengals to send Higgins out of the AFC and away from their rivals in Kansas City.
Higgins is the ideal running mate for a No. 1 receiver like Lamb and would take pressure off the Cowboys’ lack of a proven run game while easing defenses off Dak Prescott.
With the Bengals struggling at 1-4, selling now on Higgins is likely to result in a higher return on investment than simply letting him walk as a free agent and receiving a 2026 third-round compensatory selection.
Budda Baker to the Detroit Lions
The Cardinals aren’t out of it in the NFC West by any means, but Baker is a 28-year-old safety playing on the final year of the contract extension he signed in 2020. With Baker having already demanded a trade last offseason before the team re-did his deal, it’s fair to say he’ll test the market this offseason.
The Lions’ defense has been a disappointment this year, notably ranking in the bottom half of the league in yards allowed. Baker, teamed with Brian Branch, would ease the loss of Ifeatu Melifonwu to IR and boost the team’s turnover potential.
