There are plenty of places to look at mock drafts, and a lot of them do a really good job predicting what the first 32 picks of the 2024 could look like. But they’re based on the author’s big board, the author’s team needs list, and the author’s biases.

We’re not doing that today.

The mock draft you see below is compiled completely based on conversations we have had with NFL scouts, agents and decision-makers. Throw out the big board, throw out the other mock drafts you’ve read, this is the one.

1. Chicago Bears (from Carolina) — QB Caleb Williams, USC

The Bears will have a tough decision to make if Justin Fields plays as well as he did last Sunday during the rest of the season. Still, what we’re hearing is that if the Bears land the No. 1 pick, the selection will be Caleb Williams and Fields will be traded for a mid-round pick to a team that misses out on quarterbacks in free agency and the early portion of the draft.

2. Arizona Cardinals — WR Marvin Harrison Jr., Ohio State

Would Arizona move on from Kyler Murray to select Drake Maye? We’re hearing that’s not the plan; and that head coach Jonathan Gannon specifically wanted this job so he could work with the game-breaking Murray. Instead, the Cardinals would likely trade back from this spot with a team like New England that needs a quarterback and select a generational prospect in Marvin Harrison.

3. New England Patriots — QB Drake Maye, North Carolina

Maye will be a top three pick. Period. And we may see a situation where someone trades up to No. 2 overall to select him. In this scenario, the Patriots luck out and get a true-blue building block passer to start over with.
