The explosion of sports gambling across the country has opened new doors for content creators and for fans to enjoy the sport. It’s also led to many folks hoping to cash in based on instincts, intellect, or hubris when evaluating sports.

We’re no different.

Prop betting has become a fun way to add a level of investment into an event. Betting on your favorite team to win the World Series or Super Bowl gives you that much more riding on the game (of course, only ever bet what you can afford to lose). With the NFL draft, an event that could be held via a Zoom call with a press release after the fact, putting down a few bones on where NFL prospects will be drafted adds a little excitement to what can be a laborious affair over three days of picks.

We love it; but spicing up the draft via a few bucks on a prop bet and potential bragging rights is more exciting than watching owners pick players.

So here are the best and most fun prop bets to make the 2024 draft a little more fun.

Good Bet: Pick No. 3 Overall — J.J. McCarthy (+330)

The Draft Kings lines have the favorites for the top three picks being Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels and Drake Maye. And that’s pretty realistic, but the line on McCarthy here is tempting. Yes, you’d have liked it earlier when McCarthy had much longer odds, but this is one worth putting a bet on.
