It’s never too early to start looking at the next crop of prospects for the NFL draft - I’ve been on 2024 since mid-April. I’ll be releasing the notes I’ve taken so far on a few prospects - starting with the quarterbacks and releasing a different position group each week. This week we look at the linebacker class.
These are not complete scouting reports but some observations I’ve made so far. Enjoy
+ Positives and strengths
- Negatives or needs work
? Questions I still have, things I haven’t seen on tape yet
Jeremiah Trotter Jr., Clemson, 6’0, 230
+ Plays bigger than he is - plays like he is 250 lbs
+ Lives in the backfield and is a surprisingly good blitzer (6.5 sacks)
+ Complete linebacker - can play run, drop in coverage and blitz QB
+ NFL pedigree (Jeremiah Trotter Sr played in NFL)
- Needs to add strength to handle interior lineman
- Short for the position
? Can he be a pass rusher in the NFL
Tackles: 89
Tackles for Loss: 13.5
