It’s never too early to start looking at the next crop of prospects for the NFL draft - I’ve been on 2024 since mid-April. I’ll be releasing the notes I’ve taken so far on a few prospects - starting with the quarterbacks and releasing a different position group each week. This week we look at the edge rusher class.
These are not complete scouting reports but some observations I’ve made so far. Enjoy
+ Positives and strengths
- Negatives or needs work
? Questions I still have, things I haven’t seen on tape yet
J.T. Tuimoloau, Ohio State, 6’4, 277
+ Has shown the ability to take over games
+ Plays with good leverage and strength
+ Good backside penetration against the run
+ Rarely gets knocked off his spot
+ Heavy hands and strong punch knocks blockers off balance
- Limited pass rush production
- Needs to add more pass rush moves - great bull rush
- Doesn’t beat blockers with speed, burst or agility
? Is he as good in coverage as his stats are
? Can he live up to the Penn State game hype
